Blogosphere cover reveal party

As some of you may already know, I went to the Blogosphere Cover reveal party last Thursday in London cause yanno, I'm featured in it *excited emoji* It was an absolute honour to meet the team that produces such an amazing magazine for all of us bloggers to read.
Truth be told, I was absolutely shitting myself. I didn't know anyone that was going at all, and all these scenarios were forming in my head trying to persuade me to stay in bed, but I knew I would regret not going if I took the easy option which was watching Gilmore Girls in bed with a good brew.

We rocked up at Waterloo Station around 4ish and decided to get a bowl of chips and a brew from a nearby cafe the same one we went to before the #bloggersball funnily enough and then we went down to Leake Street to get some outfit photos. It smelt like fresh spray paint and stale piss beautiful imagery am I right? Shane did a brilliant job in my opinion, even if people were walking past laughing at me posing lol cheers guys. There's something quite empowering about strutting around hands on your hips, pouting at a camera like you're Beyonce or something.

Walking up to the Lumiere where the Cover reveal party was being held was quick and easy. The sun was beaming on my face and the wind blowing my hair so it stuck to my freshly applied lipstick so much sass. I started to worry about whether I was too under-dressed. A black crop top and ripped jeans - it's something I would usually wear on a day-to-day basis.  I felt comfortable and like myself which was the vibe I was going for but I was worried everyone would be in beautiful dressed and heels which lol, they were and that I'd look out of place or people would look at me and think "What the hell is she doing here?" None of that happened thank god but still I'm not used to fancy parties lol.

The walk to the venue was quicker than we thought so we made a pit stop in Costa and my nerves took over. Laughing, I asked Shane "Is it too late to turn around and go home? They won't know" - it was the fear of the unknown. Walking into a room full of strangers, alone, is really fucking daunting but still, I strutted in after the woman struggled to find my name on the guest list.. cringe or what haha. I was greeted by Albertine who made me feel so welcome and pointed me in the direction of drinks and sweets. I feel like I was really awkward and ~may have~ come across a tad rude so if I did I am very sorry! I started snapping away at the sweet table which was AMAZING by the way, before filling my retro pink striped sweet bag to the brim I struggled to close it lol.

There was so much going on: Glitter girls who were giving glitter 'tattoos', makeup girls from Lorde and Berry touching up your lippy and PR girls from Sparkle greeting you making you feel less alone. I spoke with one of the PR ladies and we ended up talking about my Nan - she couldn't believe my Nan was into trendy clothes, hair dye and hair extensions and I was the one into knitting and cross stitch. She pointed me in the direction of another girl who had come alone and so I put on my big girl pants and introduced myself to a table of girls all chatting over prosecco and flumps. My heart was racing as I sat down and started chatting but as we got to know each other my nerves died down and I started to really enjoy myself.

Before I knew it, Alice, the editor in chief was centre stage thanking us all for being there and revealing the cover of Issue 10. They flipped the giant aluminium poster and Victoria's beautiful face greeted us - I personally believe it's the best cover yet. The team handed out copies of the new issue and I eagerly flicked through trying to find my interview. I squealed when I found it and started trying to take photos but it was all so overwhelming they came out dead blurry lol.

I got to meet and take some selfies with Victoria before the night ended, and I met some more lovely ladies before filing up another sweet bag again, to the brim, shoving a lolly in my bag cause lol no-one else was taking them, and then receiving my goody bag on the way out which omg had a beauty blender which I've been after for ages.

Shane met me outside and we made the walk to the station. By this time I was mentally exhausted, my feet were hurting and I felt myself getting hangry so we grabbed a cheese sarnie from boots and climbed onto the train. Within no time we were home and I slept for like 12 days because social interaction does that to me.

  1. I didn't know you are featured in the Blogoshphere issue, that's so cool & just made me very happy for you :) I love the outfit you went for, as long as you feel comfortable who cares about other people being way more dressed up x
