Taking control of your own life

Everyone has dreams, passions, goals – but how many of you think you will achieve them?

We all make excuses for why we’re not doing what we really want to be doing; whether it’s "I don't have enough money to travel" or "I just don't have the time" but the truth is, we're all just scared! You may look at the people in the media and on the internet that do amazing things, travel to amazing places, and you wonder “why can’t I do that?” the truth is, you can!

When a new opportunity presents its self to you, go into it with no expectations.

Usually, that term is used in a negative way – but it doesn't have to be. All it means is having an open mind to all possibilities, positive and negative. Make new opportunities for yourself rather than waiting for the universe to hand it to you. Take control of your own life!

Life is about learning, experiencing new things, and doing what makes you happy.

You just have to take the risk sometimes. Wouldn't you rather look back when you’re 60, and reminisce on the time you done the thing you've always wanted to do, instead of looking back and regretting all the opportunities to do something new that you didn't take?  It might work out, it might not – but that’s the risk you’re going to have to take. Either way, you’re going to have the chance to make amazing memories or learn a lot of life lessons. Both in my eyes is a positive experience. So stop making excuses like “I’ll do it someday" because maybe you can afford to wait, maybe for you there’s a tomorrow, maybe a thousand tomorrows, you may have so much time you can shower in it, roll around in it, let it slide like sand through your fingers. So much time you can waste it. but for some of us, there’s only today, and the truth is you never really know, so do what you want to be doing, not what you think you should be doing. After all, like John Ortberg said "It all goes back in the box"

What's your main goal in life?

  2. Thanks for this, I needed it. I'm too scared to start the process of my dream job but I know if I don't do anything I will definitely regret it when I'm older. Thanks for the push! ♥
